Complete Set of 32k Earth VTs

Hi,

I've created a complete set of Earth-VTs, all 32k, mostly made from the Bluemarble-data:
- ground texture: unshaded, with ice-cover and a slightly brightened color for the oceans
- a normal map (including seafloor - not exactly realistic ;)
- spec map
- nightlights
- clouds (slightly edited to remove some seams)

(all textures are DDS, except the normal map, which is JPG)

Previews, screenshots and details are available here:
http://www.h-schmidt.net/celestia/earth-vt/

There is an obvious problem: this is a 410 MB download, and I don't have that much webspace. But all is not lost: my provider recently introduced a new feature: 1GB online storage, which I can share with others by sending them special URLs with a limited lifetime (it was intended to be used mostly for image-galleries). The traffic-limit should be enough for about 15 complete downloads.

So check the website, find out if you like the textures (most have some minor problems, and are not quite Don. Edwards-quality ;), and then send me a mail (address is on the website, I prefer not to post it here to avoid spam - on the website it's dynamically created using javascript). Obviously if there are too many request, some will have to wait :(

A really nice work!Other VT earthspec(maybe from Praesepe or Don Carla) wasn?t working very well. When I zoom it,the glare dissapeared, and the rivers and lakes didn?t have a glare.
But I have a concern.The file is too big!And it is not a 32k,it?s a 64k specmap.
When I downloaded the 16k specmap from Praesepe, the virtual textures files were from level 0-level 3.
So virtual textures files from level 0-level 5 are 64k!
Is it possible to provide a real 32k specmap?

I've been using someone else's Spec VT in the past, and it worked just fine. I don't think there is anything wrong with them, assuming they are installed correctly, but of course I can't be sure.

No matter what you think the resolution is, in fact it IS 32k. If you don't believe me, count for yourself. But maybe this will suffice:
Level 0 has 2 tiles, each being 512x512, so Level 0 is 1024x512.
Level 1 is twice the size (in each direction) of Level 0, i.e. 2048x1024.
Level 2: 4096x2048
Level 3: 8192x4096
Level 4: 16384x8192
Level 5: 32768x16384
And 32768 = 32*1024 = 32k.

Other VTs may use a different tile size...
