Some level 5-10 VTs via FTP...

Several level 6-10 VTs (level 0-5 Blue Marble VT required) can now be downloaded from my FTP server. These are from kinderino and others here in the forum. Thank you to Dora for uploading them!

Enjoy!

Error: "There are already 300 user logged on" 8O
Come on, there were only 3 people which actually read this message, where are all these users coming from?

Harry,

297 more people is about the right percentage... The rest are the silent majority who are afraid to say anything in the forum because they'll get jumped on by the thought police.

Take care, Bob <snicker>

Bob,

What Harry was referring to was the fact that not as many people (posters or otherwise) had actually read the announcement as were accessing the ftp server. Even now, the announcement has been read only 60-some times. That counter doesn't care whether the person reading it is a registered poster or not.

Could it be that many other people were accessing the ftp server for completely different reasons? Or maybe its counter is busted?

Bob,

Nope, I'm just a wet blanket all around.

My ex-officemate (he now has an office next door) once gave me a plush Eyore. It seemed appropriate.

Say what?! 8O Are you joking? It should only allow 16 users at a time.

That was the error-message I got. But 16 users makes sense, probably the message is just wrong :) Phew....

Very strange.

Checked the logs and it shows 360 MB has already been transfered, in 12 hours. So, some folks are definately hungry for high-definition VTs! We'll see if it slows down after a few days.

Question

How many people have got these working inside the 512x512 VT? I read that these 2k tiles would replace the 512s but when I hit where they should be at level 5 all I get are big white squares. I'd thought they had to all be the same size anyway? Can anyone clear this up for me?

PS I'm using jpg copies for all VTs due to low-end graphics.

You're welcome. Glad to help share Virtual Textures. They are a lot of fun to zoom in to. :D

Nice work kinderino!
