Fantastic David.
this is the best texture of Saturn ive seen so far.
At last some surface detail.

At first i loaded the texture up in a viewer, and though it looked very pale.
but when i viewed it in Celestia it looks great. 8)

Thank you David.

Thank you Darkmiss, but it was not only my work, i`ve taken the texture from Bj?rn Jhonnson`s Website and make a little experimentation with it. And the Result is this.

Despite installing Jens' new rings, which have offered lots of very good views with all the Saturn fly-by missions, I've neglected the planet texture, and have made do with a 256x128 jpg texture up to now.
This new texture has certainly made the planet itself more interesting for me, now that it shows some cloud features. It is quite a lot lighter than the previous one I was using and this really seems to highlight the haze settings of [ 0.0 0.0 1] (Blue) in my Solarsys SSC - maybe too much?

regards

Very nice texture!Saturn, with this pinks and violet, and other colors,is really the most beautiful planet(even "without" the rings). Can?t wait to see 4k "Cassini" Saturn texture in July 2004.
Perhaps in the first months of 2004,when Cassini is approaching the ringed planet, could have an ever better and more detailed texture.

Terrier, I thought the same about the blue have, useing this texture
So try what I did

Change that last haze number from 1 to 0.7
works for me :D
