Earth texture doubts

What is the more accurate Earth texture,RealisticEarth4k or EarthOceanIce?I am doubt in which texture I apply,since both is 4k

probly earthoceanice but it depends on where you got it from , mine are from Blue Marble and the color is to saturated even though i removed a bit of color from mine

Thanks for the vote of confidence John.
My colors are much more realistic than BlueMarbles by a long shot. There texture is not only oversaturated but the oceans are flat out the wrong color. I don't ever remember seeing any orbital photos much less distant photos of the Earth with purple tinted water. My coloring was adopted from Mario's Space-Graphics coloring of his texture. And one other thing, the coloring I use for the oceans can be ligthened by adjusting the haze color value in the solarsystem.ssc. You end up with those really great looking orbital shots I have in the North Summer clouds thread. You simply can't do this with the native BlueMarble textures without it looking rather odd. But to each their own.

Download both and test witch one you feels best represents what the Earth looks like. It’s your computer and your eyes and only you can decide witch is best for you. We all have our own tastes. I personally prefer being as realistic as possible. Hence the name of my Earth texture.

sarry don :oops: i got the map names mixed up , i have'nt yet looked at yours in detail
there are now just to many to look at all of them
when i first got Celistia (1.2 i think or 1.1 )there wornt many maps to be found ,just a few 2k and4k now with virtualtex there will be 10^68 maps to DL. :lol:

John, do yourself a favor, go to Don's Earth Central,
and download the 16k earth, you wont regret it. :wink:
