I have fudged a bump map of Io. It is compleatly fictional based of the texture from johnscelestiapage. I took it and rendered it in grayscale with photoshop7, adjusted the contrast and brightness and then painted all the calderas black. Does the trick.

I dont have the file available for upload yet. I can mail it to you if you wish. I had to reduce it to a 300kb file though to get it to mail. I just need an e-mail address to send it to.

This way will be very bad to you, mate. I mean, you're going to burn out yourself following this way... sending to every interested person will be a pain for you, since you'll have a lot of requests.

Moreover, it seems to be a little difficult for your internet connection to handle high speed; maybe someone could make it available on his website.

Meanwhile if anyone (Logan, but ElPelado or Andrea as well) could send it to me, it would be kind of you...

Thanks.

Ok, thanks to everyone. I was afraid of receiving 3 times the same image by mail, and... that's what occurred. Anyway, thanks Logan, ElPelado and Andrea for your mails.

I uploaded the pic to a little web site I own, but that's a very crappy site (it's free, cannot ask the moon) and you'll be waiting a lot to download it.

I've mirror the file on shatters.net:

Very nice work on this . . . it looks suprisingly good, even if it is largely fictional.

Thanks Chris. My provider is grateful to you for your help. (in the same way, I'm grateful to you for your program, but that's another story).

Hi people :D

I've created a new version of a fictional bump map for Io, this time at 4K, based on the best (by far) Io texture available, Jen's one. Although its fictional it looks pretty good, take a look to these screenshots:

You can download it from my website ;)

Woah! Why is Io so bright? Never seen it like that before...

I haven't done any change to Jen's original texture, only generated the bump map from it.

P.S. Ambient light is also turned off.

Hi Praesepe,

Could you inform us where to download the Io texture, I mean the basic one ?

I could found on your site the bump map, but as your pic looks great, I was wondering where could I download the complete work !

Sure, Jen's 4K Io map is stored on Rassilon's account on shatters.net, check this direct link,
