Why are all the Earth VT's on the ML ugly?

Specifically, the oceans. They all have a single, saturated(?) blue, encompassing 99.9% of the oceans, and have no resemblance at all to the way the oceans look in real life, like they sort of do in Celestia's default Earth texture (and a 4k texture I downloaded a while back).

And....

Antarctica. Shouldn't it be mostly white?
