THE PAST MARS : Noachian & Hesperian

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary :
- New texture of Noachian -4.100 billion years.........(just below)
- Adding the lavas in the cracks and the craters.......(down below)
- First finale texture of Noachian........................(down below)

update : june 9th, 2008.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the first images of the ancient surface of Mars in the Noachian era.

Its are the planet Mars there is dated -4.100 billion years. The all surface, even the northern hemisphere, is entirely very craters. In this image bellow, the crater is grayish the young giant crater Utopia (future Utopia Planitia), which was created by the large meteorite or well the planetesimals.

In that time, the planet did not appear actual red and there is probably similar to Earth just at the end of planetary formation. The ocean liquid training has not yet formed, it will appear in a hundred or a few tens of millions of years when the atmosphere will become more dense. The volcanoes and volcanic domes are not present either, as well as craters Hellas, Isidis and Argyre, nor polar ice caps. The planet Mars is flat all.

For to realize the images, I maked the texture the actual map Mars. I changed the surface detail what removes volcanic domes, Mariner Valles, rivers, ... and what adds a lot of craters, the giant crater and a few mines degassing to form the atmosphere, and ... therefore I have not yet finished the final texture to find few things more realistic (clouds, lava and other small details of the surface, etc.).

Image
The crater Huygens by exemple. At the bottom of this crater, there was not Hellas Planitia which would have hit -3.9 billion years.

The next, I will also several textures certain periods of time Noachian and Hesperien (-3.9 billion yaers, -3.7 billion, following) geologically to seek somethings.

I loaded the textures of Mars actual from the Celestia Motherlode. I changed the surface details and the colors. But I can not say you personally all useful, sorry. I will post later in my siteweb (not commercial). The large posters will be appear (no textures) in the shops maybe.

Zhar, I saw your textures of several planets from Celestia Motherlode (here). They are good enough you draw, I find.

Best regards
Yves

Adding the lavas (craters)

When meteorites hit the ground. Inside impact crater, the crust and meteorites are sprayed. Underground chambers redden and the walls stream of molten rock.
