How to render a Nebula model opaque (turn transparancy off)

I have been playing around with the *.dsc and *.ssc files, trying to understand how to use .3ds models in Celestia.
I am at a very basic level of understanding, and have looked at the code quite a bit to see how it works. It is quite confusing at first.
I altered the "Mesh" line in a couple .dsc (Nebula entries only, cause they use models) and .ssc files to see if I could use the same model in deep space and solar system realms.
I found the models work just fine in either , but when used in the .dsc file, the model is rendered transparent . I dont see any descriptor in the .dsc file that controls transparency, so I assume its something Celestia controls when rendering models for different tpes of objects.
I would like to turn transparency off for select items, and I understand how to select a deepspaceoject in the code, but havent a clue as to how to chance the transparency of that object.
Any ideas??
Thanks
Paul
