Support for more than 1 monitor?

I believe there has already been a topic about this, but i couldn't find it.

I was just wondering whether it would be possible to implement this into celestia. I figure, it wouldn't be that hard, as you'd only have to be able to set resolutions that are 2x the normal width of a 1 monitor setup.

So 1024x768 becomes 2048x768. If these modes would be possible(maybe they can be easily added because they are standard openGL) it would then be possible to stretch this image across 2 monitors. Which would of course be truely AWESOME!

I really hope this can be a new feature of later versions.

I do however have some doubt, whether it would already be possible. You could start celestia windowed and then stretch it across both monitors. But i don't know if this would work properly.

check out this thread

Ive got a dual monitor system using a dual monitor video card,
geforce2MX400 twinview
my flatmate also has one that uses a gforce4mx440 twinview.

I used to be able to get celestia running in full screen mode at 2048x768 and even 2560x1024 across two monitors. Now this will only work in windowed mode.
I havnt figured why this is so yet.
Mabey its the change in versions of celestia
or mabey its my OS change or video driver change.
mabey the resoloution list in the select display mode just needs to be lengthened a bit? Chris, anyone?
