1.4 question, what am I seeing

In the CVS changelog I read: Star colors now chosen based on temperature; either 'classic' and black body colors may be selected

So of course I had to try it. I pressed % and all the star colors went vibrant. Am I "seeing" the pure blackbody temperature colour here? What is left out then, luminosity? What does the classic show then?

Just making sure before I use it in class. Thanks in advance...
