Larry Niven's universe?

Before I get too excited about trying to draw all of Larry Niven's weird and wonderful worlds, perhaps this is a project which someone else has already started?

I looked briefly but could find no references to him. Is anyone planning to design ... Ringworld, for example?

Thanks.

As usual: you may search in some repertories, like the Celestia Motherlode http://celestiamotherlode.net/ or my catalog:
http://jeam.tag.free.fr/CELESTIAhtml/Ce ... ns-SF3.htm You can find on CML or in the author's page an old addon for the ring by Marc Griffith. Jeam
Edit: not yet in the CML, sorry: mayby the staff could ask M Griffith to mirror this addon?

The first link takes me to the site where I already did search ... and found nothing.
Apart from using the Google Search feature (and finding nothing) I looked at each entry for "Larry Niven" or "Ringworld" or "Known Space" ... and found nothing.

The second link does not work.

It is just as easy to post a link to the location of the Ringworld files as is it to say "look here" or "look there" but to not actually help.

Of course, the easiest thing is to not say anything at all.

As quickly as I got interested in all this, I have lost interest.

Thanks for nothing.

If you cannot be useful to you of a navigation on line, that, indeed, is not used for only one answers you. The Ringworld is classic old addon of Celestia since years... it's perhaps because Marc was to propose of it a new version, IIRC, which it is not yet on Motherlode as i believed, alas(I've edited my previous message to remove this occurence), BUT the link quoted in my catalog* works perfectly! This ridiculous answer does not include/understand?? .Jeam

Ah, on the other hand, on the same page, the link to the Arrakis/Dune system created by Icehunter don't allow to dowlnoad the addon, even in the German version of the site, the link 'download' died. Icehunter, what does it occur? Jeam

Yeah, this link definitely works...

Beautiful add-on, but there's kind of a problem: It's mostly OCEAN!!
In the books, there are only two big oceans on opposite sides of the Ringworld!

Yes, almost. The Star Ocean and the Oval Ocean were diametrically opposite each other. Both were 20km deep, and stretched most of the 1,000,000km width of the Ringworld.

However, the rest was covered 50% land and 50% shallow seas (never more than 200m deep). This is necessary, otherwise the rest of the Ringworld would be desert, and it was designed to be park-like.
