Animating the volcanos of Io!?

I've downloaded rthorvalds sun addon and it gave me the idea of animating Io's volcanos.

I thought of creating an earth style volcano shaped donught and wrapping a texture around it so that it comes up though the centre, down the sides, underneath towards the centre and up the middle again. Would that be possible?

If it is then I would need your help because I know nothing about making models or the language used in .stc files.

Using the images available of the eruptions I could make the texture, as I have Photoshop 8 and a few other imaging programs though, I think Photoshop will do.

You should try Anim8tor for your modeling needs. Read the manual and you are ready to go. You can also import and export into .3ds format. Anim8tor is easy to use and its free too. Its found here:
http://www.anim8or.com/main/index.html

For this you need an .SSC file. The .STC file are for stars. .SSC files you can use to make or add an object in a solar system.

Selden has a useful site for creating add-ons:

This helped me for my add-on help, so it should help you.[/url]
