Sci-Fi Celestia with out knowing how to write code?

Hello all. I take it from the discussions here that there is no 'easy' way to add stars, planets and other objects without knowing how to write code, and modifying the source code? Has anyone seen the 'It's Full of Stars' program by Chris Bornich? The graphics are crude, but it allows you to create star maps and planets and such. It would be great if 'It's Full of Stars' and 'Celestia' mated and created 'It's Full of Celestia'. Anyone know of anykind program that does that?

That's not true, you can quite easily add stars and planets with stc and ssc files respectively. Try opening these files in Notepad (they are in Celestia's data folder) and you'll find out more about them. It may be code, but it's very simple.

Really? I will have to try that. Thanks!

Also, Selden's site has some very good tutorials for creating ssc files (for solar systems) and stc files (for adding stars). Here are some links:

http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celest ... eters.html

http://members.fortunecity.com/guilpain ... _uk.htm#17

The second link is NOT from Selden's site, but it is still QUITE helpful.

Well, I tried opening the Datafile from the Notebook and only got the starnames list. When I added a starname, or changed a starname, it did nothing to alter the Celestia program. So again, I know NOTHING about how to alter code. Is there something I missed?

Thanks John, I will take a look at these during this week, and see if I get anywhere.
