Bookmarking Conventions (Win/Linux)

Hello,

I'm currently using ver. 1.3.2 in both Windows and Linux...

I was wondering if there were plans to adopt one or the other bookmarking schemes used in the Windows/Linux versions.

I prefer the Linux version because it saves all the settings (like FOV, etc., much like a CEL URL) along with the location. The Windows bookmarks seem to only save the objects location so that one has to pull up the bookmark and then make several adjustments in order to view the scene in the way it was saved. The Linux bookmarks pull up the location exactly as saved.

And I know I've heard this mentioned for the Windows version...but it would be nice if the Linux version saved the render path and texture resolution values between sessions.

Thanks for the great program.

Does CTRL+C or CTRL+INS work in the Windows version you are running? I don't seem to get anything copied to the clipboard.

I was expecting, having pressed CTRL+C, I would get the CEL/URL text from the clipboard needed to edit into a web page along with others I have saved from the forum and elsewhere.

Have I got it wrong?

Regards

Andy

Jon,

Sorry: I dunno. Hopefully one of the Linux experts can answer.

Andy,

Sadly, the keyboard commands that Celestia uses to copy Cel:// URLs to the clipboard don't seem to work with Win95, 98 or ME. It's not at all obvious why. They work fine with NT, 2K and XP, though. Chrs Laurel, the primary author of Celestia, does his development under XP, so it's not something he can debug very easily :(

Thanks for that Selden, the bookmarks are probably just as handy for now.
