I was thinking that a volume equation could be usd to define where stars are located within the galaxy (to be used to fill up the rest of the galaxy)
like the Volume = the integral of an apprpiate bell curve rotated about the y-axis. This will serve for the northern hemisphere. and then bell curve pointing dowwards rotated about the xaxis for the southern hemishpher.
You can set up a random generator to farbiracte stars only within this volume.

You can actually fill up the galaxy with stars now if you use my globular cluster generator for the volume you require....You will not be able to travel to the stars however without them dissapearing...Soon chris will have a permanent solution...

I tried that once. I remember getting only a "tube" of stars...
