Feature Request: DSO VTs

In order to find a way to reduce the texture load when having a lot of DSOs activated, I tried to define a VT for an example DSO (NGC1499). The result was disapointing. Obviousely it isn't possible to set VTs for DSOs or generally for mesh bodies. So I would like to request this feature.
