solar flare

ive thought of an interesting way of handling solar flares if it would be difficult to do. one could model some flares in 3ds max and then have them in a particular orbit that left it in the star for the most part. if done right this might create quite an interesting effect. of course id rather see this hard coded in. will this ever happen? will celestia ever be capable of animation?

Celestia is already capable of animating models, although the method is not as elegant as some might like.

Specifically, construct an appropriate number of models and use the Beginning and Ending directives in an SSC file to display them at the appropriate times. In some ways, it's much like traditional stop-motion animation, or perhaps page flipping, except that it's in 3D.
