Feature request: xyz orbit -points- display

Thought of this today- could be handy for people making xyz files!
We already have the orbit lines of xyz files, which have as standard something like 1000 points joined together to make the line for the orbit. Today I was planning how I would piece together my forthcoming MASSIVE galileo xyz file (it now looks like it will be certainly 15MB+ unzipped... btw) and I wanted a way that I could somehow see the actual POINTS of an xyz orbit, not just the line, so I would know if a part of the xyz was too detailed, or not detailed enough, for that particular section.
A good way to know this would be an option (maybe in the render box or something) where you could actually display the individual points of an xyz orbit, with or without the orbit line itsself. Because each xyz has around 4000+ points, you would obviously only want to display the points of one orbit at a time.
Since xyz files are just:
time | x coord | y coord | z coord
I can't imagine it would be a very hard option to program in...?! (Bear in mind I have no programming experience whatsoever myself...)
So... Could it be added to a future version?!
Thanks!
