Chris I know your working on this for the next version...but I am interested in how this is set up in Celestia...
Ok I notice in galaxies.dat, taking M31 for an example...
# Andromeda / NGC 224
"M31"
{
Type "Sb" << What are all the types you have programed in and what are the abbreviations??
RA 0.712
Dec 41.27
Distance 2.9e6
Radius 75000
Axis [ -0.596 -0.191 0.780 ]
Angle 195
}
And I noticed someone else had done this already...

But it seems some of the objects show up...Maybe because you havent programed in any of these other formations in yet? That would be my first guess...
Heres one of his....This one I notice uses type "Sb"...which you have used previously...but then there is types..E0 and S0 that I havent seen in the original...
# NGC 1068
"M77"
{
Type "Sb"
RA 2.712
Dec 0.017
Distance 60000000
Radius 61086.545
Detail 0.5
}
But then I noticed when approaching some of yours namely M33...the labels seem 'closer' in retrospect than the actual object I am approaching...And some of his have that clipping happening like the outer stars...
Guess that could end up in the bugs section...but right now thats not that big a deal
The main question is what types "Eb" "Irr" do you have programed in?
Galaxies...
Galaxies...
I'm trying to teach the cavemen how to play scrabble, its uphill work. The only word they know is Uhh and they dont know how to spell it!
