It calls a named routine in Celestia that calculates a planet or moon's orbit from an equation, rather than using a simple ellipse. It improves the precision of the object's position in Celestia.

You shouldn't use a CustomOrbit for anything you create - they only ones available are coded into Celestia, and they apply only to the objects they were created for - so CustomOrbit "moon" refers only to the Earth's Moon, CustomOrbit "earth" only to the Earth, and so on. So if you added CustomOrbit "moon" to a new moon you'd created, you'd find it orbiting at the centre of the Earth's Moon!
There really aren't that many reasons for you to want to use CustomOrbit at all - it's there to improve Celestia's accuracy, and new CustomOrbit commands will be added when new CustomOrbits are created for solar system bodies that still need them in order to improve accuracy.

I'd guess that in this case it does absolutely nothing, since I doubt if Celestia contains a CustomOrbit definition for a UFO.
