Solar System Browser Heirarchy

I looked but didnt see any previous posts on this subject.

Is is possible to change the heirarchy of the Solar System Browser and not mess up other aspect of the coding.

I would like to separate out the spacecraft from the celestial bodies (moons, etc). Maybe create a spacecraft sub-category in the browser, or something like that.

Any help would be appreciated. Coding ideas would be helpful if it is possible.

Thanks

BTW: Great program and amazingly a great forum as well. :D

I have my ssc files im my extras folder, in the order of....
A_....
B_....
C_....
which loads them into the solarsys browser in that order

Thanks Darkmiss,

That's a start if that is all that is able to be done, but within Celestia some spacecraft are preloaded into solarsys.ssc and are therefore loaded as satellites (moons).

I would still like to be able to separate out the crafts from the moons, thus making it easier for students to see the difference.

i.e. within the browser

    -Earth
      -Moon
      -Spacecraft
        -Mir
        -Hubble
        -ISS

IF this is possible, i would really like to know how to do it or see it implemented in the future as a standard or optional format.

Thanks

Chris has mentioned he wants to clear up the Extras folder mess with sub-folders, so it'd be a good idea for add-ons to take the name of the folder they're in. The only problem then of course would be .ssc files with several different types of object in each.

I had a similar problem, With a lot of add-ons the solar system browser is fed up with a lot of spacescaft and more, of asteroids of the various belts. Difficult to manage since the sub-class ALSO refer to the object they are orbiting, classification and motion origin should be defined separately.

OK . . . you've convinced me! :) I'll work on fixing up the solar system browser to use a more sensible hierarchy, with separate sections for spacecraft, asteroids, comets, etc.
