Is there any idea to add bloom in celestia?

There has been some work done on HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging) which would essentially do what you're asking about, I think. Unfortunately, the person who had been doing a lot of that work, as well as a lot of the Mac support, got a new job, moved, and hasn't been heard from since. As a result, that work is progressing much more slowly and it isn't obvious when it might be available.

Hoo, I'm glad there will be a bloom, even it'll be a long time.. well, why would i want it? simple, have you ever watch a space based discovery films? like the most recent one, 'Into the universe with stephen hawking', most films like that uses bloom in the space animation.. Celestia will look awesome with that.. looks more alive.. get it? :D

heh, good point.. But true, it's more alive.. It's like "What's the point of adding specular and bump but no bloom?!" :)

Because their costs in shader's calcolus are lesser. If instead of specular one use reflectance and or transmit shaders, is more onerous.
