A small number of textures are still incorrectly orientated in Celestia 1.2.5. These are as follows:

Require north-south mirroring to display correctly in Celestia:

deimos.jpg

180 degrees error in central meridian:

Require north-south rotation to correct for retrograde rotation:

Requires north-south rotation and 90-degree correction of central meridian:

Selden's correction of the transparency/reflection mismatch in Saturn's ring texture, which led to a doubling of Encke's division:

I've zipped the revised versions together into a package that will overwrite the necessary textures in the medres and lores directories - it also includes a Venus surface texture and a higher-resolution Deimos texture.
Download these from

On the same website there's also a version of solarsys.ssc containing a few revisions to the original 1.2.5 version - you can either lay it on top of the Celestia original, or hand-edit any revisions you want one-by-one, since I've listed them on the site.
The revisions are necessary:
1) To use the Venus surface map, and to correctly display the hyper-rotation of Venus's clouds.
2) To re-correct the orientation of the Galilean satellites of Jupiter, now that their orbits have been corrected.
3) To correct the orientation of Jupiter, so that the Great Red Spot appears in the right position (using the default jupiter.jpg).
4) To add a suitable RotationOffset to Saturn (a pretty theoretical manoeuvre, but it's put there just for consistency with the information provided for the other gas giants' prime meridians).
