stereo for geowall systems

Dear List,

It has sometimes been ask to add the possibility to use Celestia in a geowall system (live 3d).
see for example : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11235

As in our lab we have such a system, last year, I've modified the code (version1.5.1) to use it in
real 3d. The result works perfectly. The user can travel in the space looking at all object in 3d and the effect
is definitively very impressive.

To give an example, one stereo movie is available here : http://obswww.unige.ch/~revaz/pNbody/St ... _sound.avi
(the movie is a bit heavy :( note that some part have not been computed using Celestia, but pNbody : http://obswww.unige.ch/~revaz/pNbody/)

It will probably be nice to definitively insert the stereo capability in the official version of Celestia.
If there is any interest, I'm ready to give my sources and to adapt it to the last svn version, but I will probably need some help to to it properly.

Cheers,

yves

Hi Yves,

Hope I'm not to late on this one! I'm also interested in stereoscopic options in celestia, and I can't imagine it'd be too hard to do in the end. I'm not a very advanced programmer, but I've been working at modifying the 3d anaglyph mod from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13916 to show all the colors in both cameras (and alternate them) but am running across difficulty. Perhaps we can compare notes? I'll PM you as well.

cheers,
Alex
