Hi Chris,

Happy new Year !

In the site of Selden http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celesti ... index.html , I have see some corrections added by Grant Hutchison for solarsys.

How do you dicide to implement changes, added by users, in the distribution of Celestia ?

Grant's changes have already been incorporated into the latest CVS sources of Celestia and will be part of the forthcoming 1.2.5 version.

Linux users, may immediately profit from these changes by downloading and compiling the CVS sources. Windows users can do so too, provided they are equipped with the appropriate (commercial) compiler setup. The corresponding modified textures still need to be downloaded separately (Selden's site) at this moment.

Please, note that the procedure of how to access and download the CVS tree has been discussed here several times. If you are unexperienced with CVS, please, use the search facility of this forum...

In general, proposed changes have a good chance of being incorporated in the near future, if considered useful by the Celestia developers and if they fit into Celestia's general structure without too many changes.

Bye Fridger
