lazyness of pregrammers

Post #1by zebuloni » 21.12.2002, 23:43

hey t00fri

you have forgotten to say about the lazyness of the programmers to allow the realisation of internalisation of celestia when there is some people ready to do the translation !!!!

the job of the programmers are to code and the one of the translators is to translate !

English is very internationnal. It is not a good reason not to speak your mother tongue, aren't you? And not to make internalize program ! Especially when they are goo !

i18n

first i apologize for

1- i posted this as a new topic while it was a reply for translation of celestia topic

2 - i am not going to say programmers are lazy. but lazy about translation.
-------------------------
i know when a project becomes big, it is very difficult to i18n it if it has not been thought off at the beginning.

What makes me angry is to see someones states that people are lazy not to learn english THE i18nal language !

Maybe they don't have time. the money. they don't want. They can't. They don't have the educationnal background. and on ...

hey why haven't you learned LISP and SCHEME and COBOL and FORTRAN and FORTH and on on

I18n is not to make it in english because only the people who speak that english will access that ressources but brought them that ressources in their mother tongue and you could see that the number of people you will "touch" will grow. It IS i18n

I even see an english speaking canadian coder living in quebec tell me "what french you're crazy !!! " it makes me sad.

that problem of i18n is known only of some people. Maybe not very well by english speakers

Maybe celestia is not big enough to i18n ???

I suggest Reshacker for the courageous people who want to translate the win version of celestia. and throw to the garbage can their work at the next release because it is change of the binary. and not legal ??
