rough guestimate ? Few years. If ever.

This is the must laughable topic ever (sorry, I couldn't resist. Nothing against you !). You're new here, and you'll learn how much this subject is a shame !

It is obvious what is going on here. If the date of the next release is late enough, the universe won't contain any luminous stars, which makes the rendering task substantially easier. Especially if all external galaxies have been redshifted into oblivion as well.

So, I guess there is no due date for Celestia 1.5.0 pre4, huh? Safe, if you want to laugh.

Here's a thought for you all...

How about we FORGET about bugging Chris for new release dates all the
time and simply THANK the guy for this SUPERB and FREE piece of
software?

I have paid upwards of $100 for supposedly good astronomy and
universe-exploring software only to be sadly disappointed when it comes
to using the stuff. With Celestia, you don't have to BE a rocket scientist in
order to explore the universe. You simply point and click.

So, in case you haven't heard it lately Chris, THANKS AGAIN for making
this program available to us space enthusiasts for FREE.

Please take your time updating the stuff. I, for one, can wait patiently for
years.
