I just got turned on to Celestia from a GeoWall post. It seems like a great program. I'm just wondering if I can display in 3D.
Anyone doing this?
Where would be a good place to start learning this software?
Thanks
Peter

It's one of the many things that can be done in principle, but the code hasn't been included in the official version of the program.
Apparently a previous version of Celestia was ported to the Glass 3D environment. Perhaps that work could be extended in some way to be usable with the current version. See http://www.lsi.usp.br/~paiva/glass/glass.htm
There may very well be other projects to extend Celestia to full 3D environments, but I'm not aware of them.
There aren't any manuals describing the internals of Celestia. You probably should investigate the code itself on SourceForge.
