Feature Request: Search facility for all loaded DSOs

Following a recent thread in the scripting forum, I submit the following FR:

I hope that a feature can be added to Celestia in the future that will allow for searching of deep-space objects loaded [by Celestia]...

This would allow scripts to compile lists of deep-space objects available for viewing, without requiring the user to manually specify them in the script. Just as a list of planetary bodies surrounding a star can be accessed in Celestia, so it would be nice to access a list of all DSO's loaded by Celestia. At present you can only access DSO properties if you know the object's name.
