billboard is a type of object or a name of a nebula?
The word "billboard" is (American?) English for a large panel (board) that has an advertisement (bill) on it. There are many alongside highways.
I picked the name "billboard" because it describes the intended use of my square 3DS object. So far as I know, there are no real nebulae named "Billboard."
When you define a Nebula in a DSC file for Celestia, you have to give the Nebula a name and you have to specify the name of the 3DS Mesh that Celestia should use to draw the Nebula. Within the 3DS mesh file you have to specify the name of the surface texture picture that should be drawn on the Mesh. Those names don't have to be the same, but it makes it easier to keep track of them if they are the same.
If you want Celestia to show you only one flat picture, then you can use the names that I did. If you want Celestia to show you more than one picture, then each one must be a different Nebula with a different name. Each Nebula definition must use a different Mesh and each Mesh's 3DS file must specify a different surface texture picture file.
In other words, for each different picture (billboard) you'll have to copy the square 3DS mesh file that I created to a new one and give it a new name. Then you must edit that new 3DS file so that it calls for a different picture file.
Does this help?
p.s. That pulsar uses a 3DS model that Rassilon created for use in Celestia. Hopefully his files will be available again soon.
