As November 5th is Guy Fawkes Night, the night on which we traditionally (at least in commonwealth countries) fill the sky with many colors (of fireworks)....

... it seems like an appropriate date to finally release this addon. :wink:

So, check back tomorrow for a download link.

I would like to reserve this thread for releases, etc, so please don't post comments, questions here.

DOWNLOAD V 1.0:
(Removed, pending version 1.1 release, coming soon.)

Extract the ZIP to a temporary folder, then see the README for instructions on installation and use of the tool.

If you install the keystroke (_STD) version, run the tool from: File -> Scripts -> Lagrange Points. (ESC to exit)

If you have Vincent's Lua Tools, then it's recommended that you install the graphical (_LUA) version, after which you will see the Lagrange Points Tool integrated into the LUA Toolkit, as highlighted in orange here :

NO :?
As you know during the past days and posts in your threads, I prefer Dutch and it IS supported.
So I can not bring out my vote...

But I WILL absolutely download this excelent addon :blue:

Sorry about that Marco,

Fixed, you should be able to vote now (version in this thread, language choice in the discussion thread).

Given that only 1 in 7 people has indicated their preferences in the poll :? , it looks like I may need to add a 4th option in the poll questions. :roll:

Please give feedback in the poll folks! It's not a lot to ask, and takes only a few seconds of your time.

I've removed the version 1.0 download, as version 1.1 is pending.

Version 1.1 will include:
    * An improved GUI
    * Improved install / uninstall process
    * New Orrery feature
    * Fully internationalized (for a limited set of languages - currently French, Italian, Dutch, Russian)
    * Bug fixes and improved error handling

Before installing version 1.1 (coming soon) you must remove any previous install of version 1.0 from your system.
Unfortunately, v1.0 was integrated quite tightly into the Lua_Edu_Tools, which required overwriting a few LUA TOOLS files, so the
removal process is a little painful.
The good news is that, you'll only have to do this once because INSTALL/REMOVE of 1.1 and future versions will be much more straightforward.

SO, HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVING VERSION 1.0 FROM YOUR LUA TOOLS INSTALLATION:

Code: Select all

===============================================================================================================

1. Delete the file:

    ...\scripts\cc_lpview.celx

2. Delete the folder:

    ...\extras\cc_lagrange

3. Delete the folder:

     ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\adds\Lagrange_Points

4. Delete the file:

    ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\tools\ccLagrangeBox.lua

5. Edit:

     ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\utils\toolbox.lua

    Remove the line in the "boxheight" section containing:

        "ccLagrangeBoxH = 97,"

 6. Edit:

    ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\locale\locale.lua

    In the "toolbox_width" section, change:

        fr = 156,
        it = 156,

    to the original  lua_tools values:

        fr = 146,
        it = 146,

    (or to whatever values you may have personally customised them to, prior to installing the Lagrange Tools)

7. Edit:

    ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\locale\fr\fr.lua

    Remove completely the section starting with the comment line:

        -- ccLagrangeBox

    (BE CAREFUL NOT TO DELETE THE FINAL "}" curly brace.)

    Do the same with the other translation files:

        ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\locale\it\it.lua
        ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\locale\nl\nl.lua
        ...\extras\lua_edu_tools\locale\ru\ru.lua

===============================================================================================================
That should be all traces of Lagrange Points 1.0 gone.

Now, test that LUA TOOLS still works after removal of the Lagrange Point Tool.

If you have any issues, please ask questions in the Discussion Thread: http://celestia.space/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=17130

My team of "Translation Elves" have been working hard (not at the north pole, but in France, Italy, The Netherlands, and the Ukraine), so that version 1.1 can now be released just in time for Christmas!

Happy Christmas everyone!

DOWNLOAD V 1.1: ccLagrange_v1_10.zip

Extract the ZIP to a temporary folder, then see the README for instructions on installation and use of the tool.
NOTE:
If you have version 1.0 installed, don't forget to remove it before installing this version, by following the instructions in the previous post.

If you have Vincent's Lua Tools, then it's recommended that you install the graphical (_LUA) version, which has an enhanced user-interface as seen below.
(You can drag the Lagrange Points Toolbox to any location you like on the screen.)

If you install the keystroke (_STD) version, run the tool from: File -> Scripts -> Lagrange Points. (ESC to exit)
The following welcome screen will be displayed:

Current Known Issues (as at 22 Dec 2012):

    * If the key-driven tool is used in conjunction with the graphical version, any error messages issued from the graphical version will just flash briefly before being overwritten by the keyboard version's interface.
    - Workaround: Either close the keyboard version and use the graphical version exclusively, or use the keyboard version exclusively.

Hi there,

Is this package (Lagrange points for Celestia) still available? Maybe I'm overlooking something, but I can't seem to find a download link.

Thanks,
Ty

I don’t know what happened to the download link(s) in this thread, but there are two download links here.

The links point to old URLs for the Celestia website. I've fixed the link in my post to point to celestiaproject.space.
