Installing the LUT-5.2 GUI:

1. Installation instructions:

• Download and install Celestia 1.6.1 from https://celestia.space/download.html ;
• Download and install the Celestia Origin v.7 add-on (30.12.2018) viewtopic.php?p=141659#p141659,
  according to the "Installation Instructions" section, item # 1 and # 3 :

2. Move:

• Create a LET subfolder in the inaktive folder new (edition of 02/12/2019)
• celestia.cfg from folder ..\Celestia\ to folder ..\Celestia\inactive\LET\
• luahookinit.lua from folder ..\Celestia\ to folder ..\Celestia\inactive\LET\
• asterisms.dat from folder ..\Celestia\data\ to folder ..\Celestia\inactive\LET\

3. Unpack: lua-applications.zip. Copy folder lua-applications to folder ..\Celestia\

4. Move:

• celestia.cfg from folder ..\Celestia\lua-applications\doc\add_files to folder ..\Celestia\
• luahookinit.lua from folder ..\Celestia\lua-applications\doc\add_files to folder ..\Celestia\
• asterisms.dat from folder ..\Celestia\lua-applications\doc\add_files to folder ..\Celestia\data\

Note. Here and below, screenshots are made from a 1920x1080 monitor.
If your monitor resolution is less than 1920x1080, you may need to configure it (see config.lua)

7. Installation check LUT-5.2:

• In the lower left corner of the inscription should be made in red font.
• In the upper right corner of the menu screen LUT-5.2 should contain 9 lines without distortion.
  
• If the requirements of clause 7 are not met, restart Celestia again.
  
• If after restarting Celestia the requirements of clause 7 are not met, then your video card is not powerful enough for this Celestia configuration.

Note. If you return the files celestia.cfg and luahookinit.lua to their former places, the work of the Lua Edu Tools graphical interface will be restored.

In Celestia Origin v.7 add-on (12/30/2018) the file solarsys.ssc has specificity for the following objects:

• Dione
• Tethys
• Rhea
• Iapetus
• Miranda
• Ariel
• Umbriel
• Titania
• Oberon
• Proteus

Given this factor, the base of locations has been modified.
In addition, extra files have been removed from the database.
The modified database in archive form is called Locations_mod_05-01-2019.zip.
It is included in the attachment to the previous post instead of the file Locations.zip.

Additions to the basic complete LUT-5.2. Additional graphic and textual information.

In the basic configuration there is one album images_planet. Here is an example of additional information:

In the screenshot, the red arrow shows the [MoreInfo.] To include additional information.

You can connect additional albums to the GUI:

• galaxies illustration images_galaxy - 300
• nebula illustrations images_nebula - 119
• illustrations of clusters of stars images_cluster - 180
• other illustrations images_other - 9

Installation Instructions:

• Download Album (albums) and unzip
• Move to folder .. \lua-applications\lua_universal_tools_v5\

Albums can be replenished with new illustrations.
Illustration management is provided in the infoImage.lua file, which is located in the .. \ lua-applications \ lua_universal_tools_v5 \ infos \ folder.
At the end of the infoImage.lua file is a sample code for a new illustration.

Additional text information is stored:

• in English in the infoText.lua file in the folder .. \lua-applications\lua_universal_tools_v5\infos\
• in Russian in the infoText_ru.lua file in the folder\lua-applications\lua_universal_tools_v5\locale\ru\

At the end of the infoText.lua file (infoText_ru.lua) is a sample code for new information.

Note. In the basic configuration, a typo was found in the infoText.lua file, due to which the "text information" panel was not included.
The attachment contains the revised and updated version of infoText.lua.

Installation Instructions:

• Download infoText.zip and unzip
• Move file infoText.lua to .. \lua-applications\lua_universal_tools_v5\infos\
• Agree to replace the file.

Attention! The layout of the graphic interface LUT-5.2., Which was described in posts # 1-7, is a LITE version.
The following is a summary of the installation of the FULL version of the LUT-5.2 graphical interface.

Upgrade LUT-5.2. (Stage 1)

Upgrade Plan:

• Create a folder lua-extras. Access path ..\Celestia\lua-extras\
• Update the celestia.cfg configuration file, see attachment
• Install upgraded databases, see attachment, including:
  
  • asteroid base
  • base comets
  • Dwarf planets base
  • spacecraft base
• Complete the lua-extras folder with other bases from the extras folder.

Installation Instructions:

• Create in the folder ..Celestia \ inactive \ subfolder LUT-LITE
• Save the file celestia.cfg at ..Celestia \ inactive \ LUT-LITE \ (to restore the LUT-LITE version!)
• Download and unzip the file celestia_12-02-2019.zip
• Copy celestia.cfg to the .. \ Celestia \ folder. Agree to a replacement.
• Download and unzip the archive lua-extras.zip.
• Copy the lua-extras folder to the .. \ Celestia \ folder.
• Move from .. \ Celestia \ extras \ to .. \ Celestia \ lua-extras \:

Check discrete bases of asteroids:

Enable buttons and check boxes:

• in MENU LUT-5 buttons [Settings] and [Vi.Di.Ba.]
• on the Settings panel, checkbox [Asteroids (Names)] (marked with a red oval)
• on the "Virtual Discrete Bases" panel, check-box [01 Asteroids s.m. axis ...] (marked with a red oval)

Result:

Repeat the procedure for the remaining check-boxes of discrete asteroid bases.

Check comet discrete bases:

Enable buttons and check boxes:

• in MENU LUT-5 buttons [Settings] and [Vi.Di.Ba.]
• On the Settings panel, the checkbox [Comets (Names)] (marked with a red oval)
• on the "Virtual Discrete Bases" panel check-box [Comet s.m. axis 0-3.5 AU] (marked with a red oval)

Finding asteroids and comets that are not included in discrete bases (see the folder ..\ViDiBa\AllAsteroids\ and ..\ViDiBa\AllComets\) :

• download the archive guides_16-02-2019.zip, unzip it
• place the unpacked guides archive into the folder .. \ lua-applications \ lua_universal_tools_v5 \
• restart celestia
• check the work of guidebooks

• View # 1 - the initial state of the GUI menu
• View # 2 - The Menu LUT-5 [>] button was pressed, buttons appeared to enable the Guides. And what do the English abbreviations on these buttons mean?
• View # 3 - The Menu LUT-5 [Guides] button is pressed, an information panel appeared with a list of guidebooks ...
• View # 4 - The Menu LUT-5 [Guides] button is disabled, the [AB] = Asteroids Belt button is pressed (Asteroid Belt), the "Near Earth Asteroids-1" interactive guide panel has appeared. To the left of the [AB] button a red indicator appeared in the form of a ringlet.
