WASP-12 b model (former title: "rmesh" files)

One of the things I've found on exoplanets.nasa.gov is a file called "WASP-12_b.rmesh" (attached). It seems to be the WASP-12 b model used by Eyes on Exoplanets. Does anyone know of a 3D modelling program that can open "rmesh" files, and also convert them to a Celestia usable format (3DS or OBJ)?

Have you tried assimp (http://www.assimp.org)?

Does it support this file format?

Maybe. I don't know. It supports a lot of formats, that's why I suggested it.

No, it does not.

pedro_jg on the Discord pointed me to this page with a .glb version of the WASP-12b model. This can be opened with the Windows native "3D Builder", which I just found out existed! Here are .obj and .cmod versions of this model:

There is one small problem - the mesh is emissive, causing the night side of the planet to be as bright as the day side. I'm not sure how to fix this. Looks pretty good otherwise though:
