Problem exploring Pleiades

Post #1by Stardust » 08.07.2006, 16:44

I found out about Celestia a few days ago. I'm using version 1.4.1. I want to take a closer look at the Pleiades star group. I navigated within 80 light years and look from earth direction trying to recognize which star is which. After a while, I realized that Celestia is just as confused as I'm. When I clicked on a star in this group, Celestia does not alway report the same name. I leave the pointer on the same star and keep clicking the left button again and again, I found out that Celestia will report another star in this group and flip flop back and fort. The stars are centimeter apart on screen, so it should not be confused. Please advise.

I think I might be seeing this problem, but it isn't consistant. I could only make it happen twice out of many star selections. Please provide some more details:

What operating system are you using?
What graphics card do you have?
What version of graphics drivers is installed?

What's the field of view angle (bottom right of window)?
What star do you have centered?
What star names toggle back and forth?

Celestia seems to work fine now, after I restarted it. Must be some weird command combination that caused it. I will try to retrace my steps to see if I can encounter this bug again.
