Visual C++ Runtime library- Runtime Error!

Sorry for trouble, but all of a sudden I have this problem: one of my Celestia installation, the new MoonTour one, uses Vincent's celestia_overlay.exe, just like a couple of other Celestia installations.
But when I launch it, it doesn't start, and I receive the following error message:

Code: Select all

Error!
Visual C++ Runtime library
Runtime Error!
Program:....\celestia_overlay.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's Support Team for more information.

Obviously I checked the other installations using the same .exe file, but they worked.
It's the first time I see such an error message, so I don't know what is better to do, e.g. to use another installation, or modify something, or whatelse. I made many variations to the original installation, changing textures, ssc files, etc., but I have some doubt that this can be the cause
Help me, please!
Bye

Andrea :D

Hi Andrea,

Please, let me know if the problem had occured the first time you ran the .exe file from this installation, or if it worked for a while and the problem happened later...

Then, are you using the last Celestia_overlay_4 version ?

Hello Vincent, happy to read you!
It worked for a while, I had many many starts without problems.
No, I'm using a previous one, probably the one from your post
NEW PATCH to display ANY overlay image during a script !!, that's named celestia_overlay.exe, without number.
I'm sure to have done some changes bwtween the last OK start and the first NO start, but as I told I modified some texture and an ssc file, nothing else, I'm almost sure.
Thank you for your patience, Vincent.
Anyway, this is not a big problem, because when you'll make available the last release including everything, i.e overlay images, sounds and infoimage-infotext, I'll reinstall all my stuff with the new patch.

As for the next celestia_patch release, I wanted to wait for Fridger and El Christou to release the new extended Hubble scheme and the new PNG galaxy templates. This way I could remove the SBbc model of the Milky way Boux and I have added to the previous celestia_patch version.
But El Christou told me this will probably take some much more time, so I might release a new celestia_patch version quite soon, without waiting for Fridger's new feature...

Vincent, I'll be happy to test it, when available.
Thank you very much.
BTW, I was thinking if there could be the possibility to launch little avi clips from a Celestia cel script, so as we actually do for images or/and sounds. 8O
I use a series of a few images to obtain the same result, but this could be much better, including e.g. the audio.
A nonsense, or something could be done?
Just a thought, anyhow.
Bye
