speed bug

There times where I press the 'a' key accendentlly and the speed goes up. But when I press the 'F1' key to completely stop the speed goes smaller and smaller down to like 0.00000000000000000000000..., then the program just closes.

I haven't seen any topics on this or didn't look long enough on this. Was there any fix to this?

Windows XP Home, SP 2
Intel Celeron 2.7 GHz
257 mb ram
nVidia GeForce MX 4000

When I'm moving around the universe using 1.4.1 the same string of zeros happens when I try to stop as well. However - it has never closed the program - I can just keep going normally. It DOES start making some funky numbers and symbols at the end of the string of zeros.

The bug has been fixed in the source code available in the CVS library on SourceForge, so it'll be fixed in the next official release. There's no telling when that'll be, though.

There are one or two unofficial modified versions of Celestia available that are based on the CVS code, so they probably include the fix, too.

See, for example, the discussion of Vincent's version at http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9052

Selden, I'm afraid this bug has not been fixed yet... I can still reproduce it running the current CVS version. Please, see this post to get more information about how to reproduce it : http://celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8887

Oh, well. Sorry. F1 brought my viewpoint to a complete stop without the underflow. I think we'll have to wait for the author of the optimization that caused the glitch to get a network connection again, which may be a while.
