Hi,

running 1.2.0 on xfree 4.2.0 on linux, graphics card is an ati rage with 8meg. 3D accel normally works fine (just played a bit UT right now :)).
When I run celestia as root it works but all objects with bigger textures appear white.
GLInfo in the help menue says something about max texture size 512.
When I run it as normal user and go to one of the white objects (earth) celestia crashes with signal11.

any hints?
and no, its a laptop, cant get better graphics card on that...

bye

Celestia 1.2.2 will be released in two configurations--the standard download with fairly high resolution (up to 2048x2048) textures, and a smaller package with low resolution textures appopriate for graphics cards with less memory. I'm still planning to have this new version out this week.

yea, ok, but I think it shouldn't segfault when trying to load a too-big texture as non-root user...

Is that a selectable option in the menu, or two separate 'programs'?
I'd rather have one single package to install on my laptop (8meg ati) as well as on my big machine at home (32meg geforce)...
Aww well I could make it into three separate rpm packages, and the main package needs either of the two texture packs... dependencies galore...
