Ugh . . . I have no idea what happened with vertex shaders. They were working for me. I'm at work today, so I'll fix it as soon as I get home.

Okay Chris Still some problems
1:
in 1.2.4 I can select Pixel shading, and Vertex Shadeing
but in the new 1.2.5b2 I dont have the option of Vertex shadeing. ?
(no more sun reflections )
2:
No menu text at all in full screen mode (play guess the selection)
Not even if you find the right button and go back to windowed mode,
its still gone, can only fix by restarting the program.
3:
Locations has stopped working, if you add a location to you favorite list
when you select it it dosn't goto it automatically.
and if you press G to goto it it just goes to earth.
System:

Running Windows XP Pro

What kind of card do you have and video drivers? I currently use 30.x detonator...GF4 Ti 4400 Are yours newer?
No sweat...maybe you need programming help as this is consuming way too much time...Good time maybe for me to get back into it I suppose...Let me know and Ill start learning OpenGL prg

Well the vertex problem I don't believe is tied to drivers. If Rass is using I'll guess the 30.82 drivers and I am using the new detonator 40s there is definetly a prob in Celestia. I am not getting vertex either and I am using a GeForce4 Ti 4200 with 64MB of VRAM. I guess I will play a little more with it but I am going to wait for the next release. Hopefuly he can nail down the problem. I am wanting to play with some big earth textures and seperate specmap to see how they look together and of course with the vertex killed I now have to try it on the previous build.
