Celestia 1.4 freezes Mac mini

I downloaded Mac version of Celestia. Cmd-I on the application tells me it is version 1.4.

When I double-click the application to start it up, it displays a window with some stars in it, then the view pans around a bit and immediately when I touch my mouse, my mac freezes hard enough that there's nothing I can do except reach for the power button.

OS X 10.3.9

Please read the FAQ or the Readme file that came with Celestia. They describe the IgnoreGLExtensions workaround for the freezing problem (which is caused by a known ATI 9200 video driver bug).
