.bmp pictures render upside down compared to .jpg and .png !

thats rather odd...
Yes, I thought so too, but no one else replied so I thought that it must just be my monitor playing tricks on me, computer things seem to do that from time to time
Do you mean you find it odd that I should see this?
Or do you mean that it does it with you and you also find it odd ?
Well, I tried loading a bmp file in Celestia (I couldn't be bothered to convert it into jpg) once and it was flipped left-right as if it was in a mirror.

Oh! That is interesting, thanks, so it aint just me !
To tell the truth I'm not sure if I noticed the left-right thing, I was playing with a picture of my daughters rabbit ( just for fun and an excuse to learn how to do textures and how to drive TheGimp ) and superimposing hords of them on some grassland, so I was looking to resolutions and jpg artifacts in the grass when I decided to try a .bmp.
So, it is easy ( even for me !) to tell when a rabbit us right-side-up but I didn't think to look in detail at the right and left paws (it was a random distribution as well so I might not have noticed the left and right edges either ,, hmm,, mumble mumble,,,
