Giovanna,

What operating system are you using?

F11 works fine on my U.S. English Windows XP system.

Maybe your keyboard has been remapped?

There are free keyboard remapping programs available. One is at http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/

Warning: I have never used this utility.
It may or may not do what is claimed for it.

Sorry, I don't think I can help much more.

Hello Giovanna :)
the key you have to press in order to start capturing a movie is "Shift-F10" which is completely different from "F11".
Perhaps only very old keyboards had the keys from "F1" to "F10" an if I remember well "F11" was conventionally shift-F10.
But that's not the case of modern keyboards.
Apart from these old questions, "Shift-F10" works fine with Windows XP.
You can also try entering the command whith the mouse, from the menu "File/Capture Movie"

Selden, in my PC (Windows XP, Celestia 1.4.0pre6) the key "F11" doesn't work: nothing happens! :?

That's all

Ciao
Pierluigi

Obviously Italian keyboards and the Italian version of Windows are not at all like the U.S. versions :(

All of the U.S. PC keyboards that I've seen, even the newest laptops, have F1 through F12, all working.

I have got the same problem with XP HOME EDITION, PIV 3,4, ATI X600 PCIeXpress, Spanish language and keyboard: Once you have asked celestia to record teh video, F11 key does not work for that, instead you get ALT-Azimuth message; if you press SHIFT-F10 you get th escreen split in several smaller portions. I've tried KeyTweak, but I'm not veru sure how to map F11, that is, which code should be assigned to it. besides I've seen the video recording perfectly allright in a Spanish Laptop with Windows XP and Spanish keyboard.
