locating a system at 8 kpc

I am trying to locate my system ( black hole plus rotating stars ) at the distance of 8 Kpc from the our Sun.
Somehow when I set that distance , I am unable to travell to it. I never get there and the program seems to either get stuck or confuse ( maybe I am confuse! )

I use light years in the "Distance" attribute of the .ssc file where the center object is described.
If I reduce the distance around 10 times then I am able to travel to the object and sorroundings stars without any problem!

Could someone give me a hint, is there a limit somewhere or am I doing something wrong ?

many many thanks in advance,

Celestia only draws stars reliably to a distance of about 16KLY -- that's about 6KPC.

Sorry.
