Align.log option missing or changed...

The paremeter -v no longer functions with Celestia...Is it been taken out accedentialy or is it changed? I think it should be automatic whenever I enter edit mode and save with shift 1...

I think I am using the right commands...

shift + 2 enter edit mode...
shift + 1 save model coordinates to align log...

Thing is I cannot start celestia with:

C:\Program Files\Celestia>celestia -v 1>align.log

The output is invalid command line option '-v'

Well a fix for this or either model orientation in celestia...When using LongLat the model should be auto oriented to be flat with the planet along the object's X-Y axis...Z axis should always be up from the center of the planet the object orbits...This would help substantually in model orientation...

Well theres a few other issues with models in celestia...When you place them close to planets and enter thier rendering radius they cull badly...Never did this before...

The models depending on the LongLat coordinates will appear at the same angle relative to the entire engines world coordinates...In other words you have to use axis settings to get the placement correct depending on LongLat...

The command MeshCenter I suppose I have no clue what this does as no matter what x,y and z coor I place it has no effect on orientation...

Ras',

All the single-hyphen single-character options have been removed. I really dunno why. However, the double-hyphen spelled-out options still work. "--verbose" is the one that writes to the output file.

I know Chris is working on one type of viewpoint clipping problem. I don't know it this will help with the one you mention.

I think the Orientation directive can be used as an alternative to Axis and Angle. It might be easier to use.

Yeah orientation is the better option...Heres some of the culling issues with models...Also you will notice another issue with snapshots...It also grabs an imprint of the window open beneath it...

The bright area in a snapshot is an ancient bug, unfortunately :( There are some workarounds in the "Preliminary User's FAQ" in Q/A#8.
