Problems with Cassini?s Saturn texture by Jens

A bizarre thing! My Saturn texture has a shadow in the poles and textures overlaying each other.it?s very weird.I don?t know what happened. My ring texture is a png 4k.I was using the old saturn.dds 2k from Bjorn Johnsson, now I changed to Cassini?s texture and this strange thing appeared.I rename the 2k jpg to saturn2.jpg to not overwrite the old saturn.jpg.The problem disappear when I toggle the ring shadows off
Look to my ssc:

# but it looks nice

Daniel
Have you said recently that you've installed a new and improved graphics card ?

Does this only happen with your new Cassini texture, and not your original 2k texture ?

Does this "bizarre thing" move up and down the planet, if you speed up time ? (Toggle Ring Shadows on, Follow Saturn, Turn up Ambient Light, and set speed to at least 10,000,000x faster for a good effect.)

Perhaps you are witnessing the ring shadows cast on Saturn for the first time? They are currently being cast on it's North Pole, but are starting their journey towards the equator, and eventually the south pole.
They're next due to almost disappear at it's equator around August 2009!
