When I get realy, realy close to Earth the texture pegins to shake, the closer I get the worse it gets, I only noticed this after installing an add-on that put a space shuttle un Earths serface.
I have Celestia 1.3.1 pre11

I think it is a problem with precision. See chris' post here:

(i.e. should be fixed or at least improved in next version).
