celestia tryes to be as real as reality. you may know that the MIR doesnt exist now right? so why should it be in celestia?
to see it you have to go to a time when the mir was orbiting the Earth, a coupel of years ago.

Have a look at solarsys.ssc and finr the entry for Mir...there should be a beginning and ending...go to a time between the two! Alternatively remove these lines and Mir will be there all the time!!

Don't forget also to look at Galileo : It will disappear soon
That remins me that during the French total solar eclipse on 11th
august 1999, a stupid french astrolog predicted that "Mir will fall on
Earth during the eclispe !!!".
Of course during the eclipse Mir stayed in orbit, confirmed by
celestia

Mir was in orbit between Feb 1986 and March 2001 just got to "time select" and change to somwhere in between.

This one also confused me, although I found it out by trial and error; if you set the time to 06:29 on 21 March 2001 and wait for a minute, Mir simply pops out of existence at 06:30 (it doesn't crash into the Earth).
