1.3.0 multiple solar system question

Hey everyone,
I'm a brand new poster so go easy on me if I leave out any important information. But I do have a problem.

I'm running 1.3.0 and I am entering solar systems for Battletech into the program. I got my first system done after a bit of figguring out the system.

But when I got to the second system to be entered the pogram just would not accept anything I put into it for that 2nd new star. I know I'm putting it in right. I even tried to clone the star system that I first put in that worked at a different location to try and see if it worked and it still didn't.

Any advice? What should I do? Am I doing something horribly wrong?

Thanks

Are you trying to place the second star system more than 16,000 light years from the sun? Celestia won't allow any stars to be placed outside this area. Post the code you're using for the second system too, just in case.

Everything is within 700 light yers of Earth with what I am doing.
Unfortunatly I am at home while my files are at work. I'll post them as soon as I get there tomorrow morning. :(

Any other ideas? :D

Thanks again!

Posting your definitions would be useful.
But in the meantime, have you checked that the star you're creating a system for actually exists in Celestia with the name you're using? If Celestia can't find the star name, it won't add the system.

Yes, I addd in the HIP number to the starnames.dat along with a name for them after the " : "

I'll definatly post them tomorrow. Thanks guys.

There's your problem. Celestia v1.3.0 does not understand a star name in the .STC file. That feature requires a v1.3.1 prerelease.

I don't think the program likes semi-major axis' below 1. If I set everything above 1 then it tends to work.
Hmmm
Any suggestions on how to get planets closer to the little M class main sequence star?

just add a 0 in front of the decimal point:

0.1 instead of .1

Thanks a bunch. I can't believe that I didn't see that before now.
You guys are top notch. Thanks for a great program.
