set time malfunction

hope someone can assist,I'm running celestia1.30, winxp, on a fujitsu siemens t bird 1.7, 512mb ram, NVIDIA card as below

I cant consistently type in a date or a year, it sometimes reverts to 2003,or wont go back past 1752, or wont change at all, this is with earth selected only ie not following or doing anything else. I can go back and forward using jkl but its clumsy.I thought I'd seen this problem on the forum but cant see it now.All advice gratefully received ,

The 1752 problem is apparently with Windows - the nice folk at Microsoft can't imagine why we might be interested in earlier dates.
Chris mentioned a while back that he would try to come up with a workround of some kind, but of course he's been frittering away his time adding new features instead :wink:
