Invalid page fault

I really enjoy this program, but I can't get near Saturn or Uranus without getting "CELESTIA caused an invalid page fault in module PMX2OGL.DLL at 0197:2d017f6a." My drivers for the Prophet 4000XT are all up to date. I tried an older version of pmx2ogl and couldn't open the program. I tried changing the texture on the rings to a jpg instead of a png. I approached Uranus from a moon, but got page fault again when I drew closer.
I am using windows 98 SE on a pentium 4 with 512 RAM.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Try taking out all references to .cms files in the .ssc description files.
(many are asteroid.cms) That stopped all crashing on my cpu.

Thanks for the reply. I worked with the cms references, but that didn't help. I edited out the ring info for Uranus and Saturn in the solarsystem.ssc file and that stopped the crashes, but i have no rings. I see from the posts above this one that others are having this problem. Any way to get the rings back without crashing?
Thanks,
Bob

Did rings work for you in Celestia 1.2.2 (or earlier)?

I'm quite puzzled by this problem, and it's definitely something I want to get fixed before the final release of 1.2.4.

I have not used any other version. The rings work fine on my wife's AMD K6 III 450 MHz with Win 98 SE. Thanks for loking into this.
