I'm getting a 50% dropout rate when pinging shatters.net's gateway
it works for 5-10 seconds and then fails for 5-10 seconds.

I get no dropouts when pinging its upstream router
sttl-dsl-gw11.sttl.uswest.net

this makes it *very* hard to post

I think the problem started over the weekend.

It's very annoying . . .

I noticed the light on my DSL router blink off and on again every 30 seconds or so, but I haven't had a chance to investigate any deeper. I don't know if it's flaking out, or if the problems is on my ISP's side . . . I'll know more in a couple hours.

Yeah...my last post went in twice...it's frustrating to say the least.

I've found it difficult to log in since last thurs/friday.

An unfiltered phone line was causing troubles with my DSL. The problem's now fixed, and there should not be any more dropped connections . . . Nevertheless, I will continue to watch this thread carefully, so if you do run into more problems logging into the forum, please post about them here.

about the problem that you have already solved, i had the same problem. it took lot of time to see the forum and to put posts.

i've noticed that shatters.net its self still isnt working (for me anyway) although the forum (obviously) and the celestia page work fine.

After Logging into the Forum, I get no new posts since last visist. I have to go from forum to forum and look at the time/dates of each post, instead of looking at the orange indicators.

Any idea what is wrong?

It seems that shatters.net's gateway at 63.224.48.70 is flaking out again.
I'm seeing about a half-second delay getting through it and about 25% packet loss. Traceroute seems not to be having any problems reaching its upstream router, sttl-dsl-gw11.sttl.uswest.net.

The gateway is having problems again this morning:
ping is giving a round-trip time of well over a second plus about a 5-10% packet loss
at 9:10am edt =6:10am pdt
